Haysia Osborne

Senior Spotlight 2026

Read about Haysia’s 16-year dance journey below!

What is your favorite style of dance?

All of them hold a special place in my heart, but contemporary is my most favorite because I love getting to tell a story when I dance.

What’s one routine you wish you could perform again?

One routine I would go back and perform again is the PC dance “She Used To be Mine” choreographed by Ms. Carah.

What’s a moment in dance that challenged you—and changed you?

One moment that challenged me was having to sit out due to health related issues. It truly made me realize not to take any day dancing for granted and enjoy every moment of it.

What’s a backstage or rehearsal memory you’ll never forget?

I will never forget saying a prayer and doing “get your head in the game” before every dance. I’ll also never forget making up dances in class with my friends and all the spontaneous funny moments in weekly rehearsal.

What’s one thing you’re proud of that people might not have seen?

I’ve always tried my best to be inviting towards others and sharing my light to ensure that everyone always feels welcome.

If your dance journey had a theme song, what would it be?

My theme song would be “Vienna” by Billy Joel. This song is an amazing reminder that I’ve always tried to think about and it helps me remember I’m “Doin’ fine and can’t be everything before my time…” 🎶

What advice would younger you need to hear?

I would tell myself that life feels fast when comparing myself to others. Imperfections aren’t failures but part of growing. Focus on what’s right in front of you instead of your perfect timeline because we as humans aren’t meant to be perfect.

What advice do you have for the next generation at the studio?

Hard work and fun can coexist and both make for an unforgettable dance journey <3

What are you most excited about in your next chapter?

I’m most excited to meet new people and continue to make memories and enjoy experiences in college.

Finish the sentence: “Dance taught me . . .

. . . what it’s like to find so much freedom and joy within doing something.
