Laney Wilson

Senior Spotlight 2026

Read about Laney’s 15-year dance journey below!

What is your favorite style of dance?

Lyrical & Jazz

What’s one routine you wish you could perform again?

“People’s Faces“

What’s a moment in dance that challenged you—and changed you?

Long days where it feels like you have nothing left to give, but you make the choice to keep pushing and find strength in your team. This has shown me that good friends can give you strength and help you get through hard times!

What’s a backstage or rehearsal memory you’ll never forget?

The most recent competition at Triumph Kansas City, we danced to Flex at the late-night Friday awards, and it was the most fun I’ve ever had at a competition.

What’s one thing you’re proud of that people might not have seen?

I’m proud of making it a priority to be a role model for the younger generation at the studio. I hope I have done a good job of showing what it means to be a teammate and to love each other like family!

If your dance journey had a theme song, what would it be?

“Ribs” by Lorde

What advice would younger you need to hear?

That hard work pays off, and to never let yourself get lost in the journey. Time flies, so make the most out of every single moment.

What advice do you have for the next generation at the studio?

The people you are dancing with are not just friends; they are family. Lean on them in hard times and continue to show them love and kindness.

What are you most excited about in your next chapter?

I am most excited to continue my dance journey and create more memories that will last a lifetime. I am sad to see this chapter end, but I’m so excited to see what the future holds.

Finish the sentence: Dance taught me . . .

. . . perseverance and true friendship.
